A Short Music Bio

Robert Gerald Porter was born in Walkerton, Ontario and picked up the Euphonium at the age of 11, later learning the trombone very quickly at the age of 17. Within one year of learning the trombone, he was accepted to McMaster University's music programme.

Since then he has performed with the Mac Jazz Band, McMaster Concert Band, the Georgian Bay Symphony, Jazz Explosion Big Band, Symphony Hamilton, Hamilton Theatre Inc., Southamption Summer Music Faculty Winds, and the Division Street Winds. He has also played various small gigs with jazz combos at establishments across Hamilton. He currently performs with St. John the Evangelist Choir as a bass voice and as an occiasional guest instrumentalist, and records as a trombonist with the multi-talented muscian Mark Grayson Lenover.

Rob has a B.A. in Music and a Combined Honours B.A. in Theatre & Film Studies and Peace Studies.
